Rich Rusnak is a recently retired instrumental music educator of 37 years. He spent the last 27 years working for the Wallenpaupack Area School District. Rich has also performed with several big bands and area rock bands including the “Poets”, “Grand Tour”, and “Hoopla”. He has also spent numerous years as a private woodwind instructor and worked as an instrumental repair technician. Rich’s “love for soccer” keeps him involved in the sport even in retirement. He is a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. Mr. Rusnak spent over ten years in service to the PMEA, serving three years as the PMEA District 9 President. Since joining the Black Bear Conservatory of Music in June of 2011, Rich directs the “Music Express”, currently a nine-piece instrumental ensemble. The premise of the ensemble is to provide more performance opportunities to many of the more talented youth of the Wallenpaupack and surrounding area. The group performs a variety of musical styles from the modern side of music. |
