“Just Desserts” Fundraiser a Success!
Thank you to all of the faculty, students, and supporters of this fall’s fundraiser. The young artists gave a wonderful recital with over 80 people in attendance. Not only that, but the collective efforts managed to raise over $2,120 for the school. We extend a special thank you to our very generous business sponsors: The Capri Restaurant and Select Equity Group Foundation. Also, a huge debt of gratitude is in order to Barb Fabri, who oversaw every aspect of the campaign!
DATES TO REMEMBER
October 31 - Halloween Day. Classes are scheduled as usual. Please be aware that a holiday parade takes place on main street during the evening hours.
November 1 - Faculty meeting, The Capri Restaurant---cancelled
November 7 - Faculty Concert, Simons’ Pond Music Festival. Grace Episcopal Church, Honesdale @ 4pm.
November 26 - Thanksgiving Day. No classes.
December 5 - Student Recital, The Hawley United Methodist Church. 2:30-6:30 pm. Students will have the opportunity to sign-up for one of the hour-long recitals. PLEASE NOTE THE DAY CHANGE.
December 24 – January 1 - Winter holiday period. Be sure to confirm with your studio if classes will be held during this period. Many teachers hold reduced or limited hours during this week.
*** We wish to hear from you! Please submit items for newsletters or our website by the 15th of the preceding month during which they will run. Information on faculty concerts, students’ accomplishments, or community events are welcome.
Winter Weather Policy
As a reminder: the Black Bear Conservatory does not automatically close for inclement weather. Due to the multiple school districts that we serve as well as the large geographic area from which faculty and students travel, cancellations or delays take place on a case-by-case basis according to the individual teacher. Students should contact their instructor(s) directly for questions regarding class schedules. Take the time now to be sure that your phone number and email lists are up-to-date!
