Stephen Faubel began his musical career at the age of 10 as a chorister with the St. Thomas Choir of Men and Boys in New York City, where he shared the stage with opera singer Jesse Norman and the Concert Royal Orchestra. While attending Wallenpaupack Area High School, Stephen sang in All-State and All-Eastern Choruses while studying voice with Norman Campbell, Alice Welker, and Dr. Malloy of The Eastman School of Music. Along with his singing pursuits, Mr. Faubel studied piano for four years under Sister Immaculate Severino of Marywood University in Scranton, PA. At Penn State’s School of Music, Mr. Faubel began his studies in Vocal Performance under Dr. Norman Spivey and Ms. Mary Saunders, and sang with PSU’s Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Essence of Joy as well as the PA Chamber Chorale. Eventually earning a BA in piano, Mr. Faubel studied under Dr. Steven Smith while performing, accompanying singers, instrumentalists, and choirs, and playing with various jazz ensembles.

Currently, Stephen teaches privately in Hawley, PA and at the Black Bear Conservatory of Music. He is an active performer in the local community, serving as pianist/music director at Bethany Presbyterian Church, and pianist for the 2009 season musical at the Ritz Company Playhouse. Most recently, Stephen performed a dual recital held at Bethany Presbyterian Church with BBCM cellist Wesley Tudor. Mr. Faubel also performs regularly at many local establishments in the region and volunteers as a DJ for the public radio station 90.5 FM. In addition, he has performed twice at Carnegie Hall as a member of The New York Choral Society.
