About the Black Bear Conservatory of Music

The Black Bear Conservatory of Music is a full-time, community conservatory of music dedicated to “Excellence in Music Education.” Its faculty is comprised of state-certified teachers, practicing artists, and college educators—all of whom are dedicated to promoting the highest standards in students of all ages and degrees of accomplishment. From the youngest beginner to the advanced professional, BBCM offers challenging courses of study within a comprehensive curriculum. The general practicum integrates aspects of performance, history, and theory through weekly lessons, group classes, and community engagement events. In addition, the conservatory houses the region's only College Preparatory Institute, which offers advanced personal training and classes for college-bound students in grades 8 through 12. BBCM is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) educational institution and is also a certified member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.
