In the wake of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, the Black Bear Conservatory of Music and Harmony are reaching out to those in need. A Benefit Recovery Concert, "Sounds of Support," will take place on Saturday evening, November 17th, at 7:30pm at Harmony's performance center inside the Hawley Silk Mill. Area students and faculty from BBCM will perform a variety of musical selections. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to local and national chapters of the Red Cross. Admission is open to all; no reservations required. A $10 donation is suggested, but any donation--no matter how large or small--will be gratefully accepted. For questions, please contact Harmony Presents at 570.588.8077 or BBCM at 570.226.7606. The Black Bear Conservatory of Music and Harmony Presents are dedicated to supporting the communities we serve. Please join us for an evening to help fellow community members through the gift of the arts. If you cannot attend but would like to donate to the cause, checks can be made payable to "BBCM" and mailed to 519 Church Street, Hawley, PA 18428.
Due to the large region that we serve and the diverse locations from which our faculty travel, BBCM does not automatically close in the event of inclement weather.
Our policy requires individual faculty members to contact families in the event he/she will not be holding classes.
If you are unable to attend lessons/classes due to bad weather, please contact your instructor as soon as possible at his/her direct extension. If you require the assistance of our answering service, dial 570.226.7606 and then follow the prompts to locate your teacher using our phone directory. Messages left on the information request line cannot be forwarded in a timely manner.
Thank you for attention in this matter and best wishes to you and your family for a safe season!

Black Bear Conservatory of Music is more than a place to take music lessons; it is an institution dedicated to "Excellence in Music Education." Our faculty boasts advanced degrees from some of the finest institutions at home and abroad. In addition, not only are they acclaimed scholars and performers, but each instructor brings teaching experience from renown institutions including the Manhattan School of Music and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. As a school, we are concerned with the whole student and how each member is able to integrate music into his/her own life in a meaningful way. At Black Bear, we are more than music. We remain an institution dedicated to the preservation of culture in the community of which we are proud to be a part.
