The staff and faculty of the Black Bear Conservatory of Music welcomes you!

Board of directors and faculty

The Black Bear Conservatory is more than a place for weekly lessons; it is an institution dedicated to "Excellence in Music Education."  Our faculty boasts advanced degrees from some of the finest institutions at home and abroad.  In addition, not only are they acclaimed scholars and performers, but each instructor brings teaching experience from renown institutions including the Manhattan School of Music and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.  As a school, we are concerned with the whole student and how each member is able to integrate music into his/her own life in a meaningful way.  At Black Bear, we are more than music.  We remain an institution dedicated to the preservation of culture in the community of which we are proud to be a part.

We are now an accredited school with the NGCSA!

String Program Expanded

Thanks to a generous donation from the Tudor Family Foundation, BBCM has purchased three cellos to add to its string instrument collection.  The brand new instruments are available to children throughout the community who wish to begin studies at the cello.  In addition, the grant has made possible the establishment of tuition-based scholarships for 3 children who reside in NEPA.  BBCM granted the first scholarship in February.  For more information on the expanded string program, contact the conservatory's office at 570.226.7606
